De-stressing In Mexico
The wife and I took a much needed vacation in Mexico this year. What better way to de-stress than in a climate with constant temperatures above 30 degress celcius. We decided Nuevo Vallarta would be the place to go relax on the beach and enjoy the rays of the Sun.
I must say the RIU Palace Pacifico was a real treat to be at. The rooms were fantastic and the views were incredible. Service was top notch and if you feed the maid and or give her daily tips your room will always be clean and the bar will be topped up daily. She may even bring you a 42″ inch widescreen TV so you can enjoy a few movies late at night. The food was a plenty and we had no problem finding dishes we liked. I must say the Pineapples were delicious. I highly recommend this all inclusive resort. Just stay away from the Tequila 🙂
The resort is in between Puerto Vallarta and Bucerias. We walked down the beach to Bucerias on a Sunday. Quaint little Mexican City with cobblestone roads. We looked at a lot of local Mexican art and local shops before ending up at a local bar called YoYo Mo’s. Lo and behold it was Grey Cup day and there was probably 25 Canadians in the pub watching the Saskatchewan Roughriders beat the Hamilton Tiger Cats. Certainly didn’t expect that atmosphere. Another village we checked out was Sayulita. A small Mexican Village that came to life when they turned the surfing community into a resort community. Lots of Canadians there as well. Most retired and living there.

De-stress and accomplish a phobia
Some say less is more – I disagree!! More is more fun when it comes to adventure, and this tour offers the most activities packed into one fun-filled day of adventure. Enjoy thrilling rides on a series of zip lines, including Mexico’s longest and fastest 1.2KM zip line that has you going 60MPH, an exhilarating off road ride in a Polaris® UTV and much, much more.
Being scared of heights as a result of a terifying experience when I was a young lad this adventure had me worried. I wasn’t sure if I could do it. Much to my surprise it was the most exhilarting thing I have done in my entire life. We were zip lining from tree to tree in the tropical jungle, upside down, tandem, and then the mother of all zip lines. a zip line that starts at one mountain and ends at another. On your stomach Superman style, flying above the tree tops at 60 MPH for 1.2 KM’s. The thrill leading up to it was amazing and the ride was incredible. I am no longer afraid to do extreme things and my fear of heights is a thing of the past. I won’t spoil it for you but here is a video of myself fluing through the jungle.
